Sorry we did not get to post another until now, we have been running all around Nicaragua and did not have internet. From the Managua City Dump to an amusement park, we have had a wide range of experiences this week. I think a lot of eyes have been opened to new people, new places and a reality of the developing world. I hope everyone comes back tomorrow with a story about an amazing child they have met this week and a motivation to bring back what they have learned to each of our communities. So, please invite them to share their experiences (and pictures) with you. We are having a farewell fiesta tonight for the kids, a little bittersweet and then are headed back to the states tomorrow.

We made it!! All 120 students from UVa, JMU, Tech and beyond are here in Managua and off to an amazing start.

Yesterday we sat in a bus for 3 hours to get to a beautiful beach where we spent the entire day swimming with the kids, playing soccer and building more sand castles than you can imagine. 5 hours later we returned to Casa Bernabe orphange with exhausted kids sleeping in our arms. Last night, a former member of the band Dispatch (pretty big deal) Brad Corrigan, came to Casa Bernabe and told his story of the impact the kids of Nicaragua have made on him… and played a few songs.
We are all at church with the kids today, which is a big part of their culture. Later, we will learn more about Nicaragua and relax a little. We will try to write another blog as soon as possible.
Please keep us in your thoughts, you are all in ours!

Hello everyone! It’s getting close to spring break and none of us can wait. Tonight from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm we will be packing all of the items that were so graciously donated to us this year. It’s going to be a lot of fun, so I hope that many of you can make it.
Stay tuned and check your e-mail often as last minute reminders will be issued.
Friday can’t get here fast enough!
